Fireman's Carnival coming to town

The Margaretville Fire Department Field Days from July 1-6 at the village park will mark the true arrival of summer.
The annual carnival promises fun for the entire family with plenty of rides, games, music, food and the opportunity to socialize with old friends. A huge fireworks display will cap the festivities on both Friday and Saturday nights.

Carnival highlights
The schedule of special events includes the following highlights:
• Tuesday, July 1 through Thursday, July 3: Rides open at 6 p.m.
• Wednesday, July 2: Pay One Price rides, 6-11 p.m.
• Thursday, July 3: Car show starts at 6 p.m.
• Friday, July 4: Pay One Price rides from 1-5 p.m. WRIP Radio will broadcast live from the carnival. The band Vontus will perform from 8 p.m.-midnight. The fire department will hold a chicken barbecue starting at noon until sold out. A giant fireworks display starts at 10:30 p.m.
Saturday, July 5: Pay One Price rides from 1-5 p.m. A chicken barbecue will be offered from noon until sold out. Live music starts at 8 p.m. A fireworks display will get underway at 9:45 p.m. After the fireworks, a benefit drawing will take place for the George Hendricks Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Sunday, July 6: Pay One Price rides from 1-6 p.m. when the show closes.
Each day, the carnival will include an assortment of games with the opportunity to test one’s skills and win a variety of prizes.
For ride lovers, the Margaretville Fire Department Field Days offer a great place to seek some thrills. Carnival food is hard to resist for many folks — with everything from fried dough and cotton candy available for visitors to enjoy.
