Feb. 25, 2009: Happy to return, if they'll have us

To The Editor:
I am writing to express our gratitude to the wonderful people of The Roxbury Motel.
My husband was on a ski trip with our three children when he dislocated his shoulder. Greg, the proprietor of The Roxbury, extended himself for my family. While my husband was transported to the Margaretville Hospital emergency room, Greg went to Ski Plattekill to retrieve my children and return them to the motel to await my arrival.
Greg was a calm voice on the phone and a wonderful source of information while I traveled upstate - all this while his business partner was ill and he was dealing with another guest with a broken bone. If all that was not enough, Greg helped get my kids fed dinner! You’re lucky to have such a wonderful person running a business in your community.
We would also like to express our gratitude to the ski patrol at Ski Plattekill, the Roxbury Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the staff at the Margaretville Hospital emergency room.
Despite it all, we plan to be return guests at The Roxbury Motel, that is, if they will have us again.
