Esther Emerson

Esther Mae Endersbee Emerson, 93, of Masontown, PA and formerly of Margaretville, died unexpectedly at 9:50 a.m. on Monday, June 2, 2014 at the emergency room at the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, PA.

She was born March 25, 1921 in Canton, a daughter of the late Milton and Cecil (Hance) Endersbee.
On August 13, 1940, she married William G. Emerson, who died October 28, 2001.
Mrs. Emerson was an avid New York Yankees fan until she moved to Masontown in July of 2011 when she quickly became a Pittsburgh Pirates fan. She was a caring wife and mother who crocheted profusely and was active with the First United Methodist Church of Carmichaels prayer shawl ministry. Mrs. Emerson was an active member of SeniorLIFE in Uniontown for the past three years where she enjoyed making new friends. The family acknowledges and appreciates the care that she was given at SeniorLIFE.
Surviving are two daughters, Beverly R. Saunders and her husband, Roger, with whom she made her home in Masontown and Cheryl M. Fournier and her husband, Larry, of Crystal Lake, Ill.; three grandchildren, Jill O’Neil and Laura Lawrence and her husband, Jamie, all of Carmichaels and Jacklyn Richardson and her husband, Bobby, of Huntley, Ill. and six great-grandchildren, Kayla Longstreth, Jeremy Lawrence, Jared Lawrence, Megan O’Neil, Victoria Richardson and Alexander Richardson.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are a brother, Keith Endersbee who died at 11 months old and two sisters, Irene Royce who died in 1957 and Mary Endersbee who died at birth.
Calling hours were held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, funeral director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels, Pa.
All services and interment in New York will be private.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 7 Mill Brook Road, Wilton, NH 03086.
