Epner is new director at PH Community Center
The Pine Hill Community Center has appointed Ann Epner of Denver as its new executive director, effective August 1.
Ann will be replacing James Krueger, who has directed the center since 2002. Ann is best known for her work at The Roxbury Arts Group, where she has been employed for the past 11 years as program director, community arts coordinator and press coordinator. Ann has been involved in a number of community groups, including a stint as president of Writers in the Mountains and producing multiple shows on Roxbury’s WIOX.
“I am very excited to be joining the Pine Hill Community Center,” Ann said. “I have long admired the center’s commitment to community values and to creating a place where everyone feels welcome. I look forward to working with the board of directors and the community to carry on the great work being done through the center.”
“I’m thrilled that Ann Epner will be taking my place,” said James Krueger, the exiting director. “Knowing that the center will be in good hands makes a reluctant farewell much easier.” James will be leaving in August to pursue a Master’s of Divinity Degree in Wisconsin. Board President Jim Nevin stated that he is “sad to see James go after nine years of dedicated service to the center,” but is excited about the new possibilities for the center under Ann’s leadership. “We will keep building on all the fine work done here over the past decade; and we invite the larger community to jump in and be involved in this important community asset at a critical time, and to support Ann as she comes on board.”
The center will be hosting a farewell party for James on Saturday July 30 at 6 p.m.; please bring a dish to share, but no desserts. The board asks that people do not bring presents, but invites those who feel moved to contribute towards James’ education to show appreciation of his hard work over these years. The center will also be hosting a meet and greet the new director event in the near future.
