Elmer E. Alberti, 85, a resident of Grand Gorge since 1960, went to be with the Lord late Thursday evening, June 5, 2014, with his family by his side.
Elmer was born December 16, 1928, at Windham, the son of Elmer and Nellie (Tompkins) Alberti.
He married Marquerite Parker on December 7, 1952, at Prattsville.
Elmer was known for being a longstanding resident of Grand Gorge. He made his livelihood as a well-known dairy farmer and cattle-dealer.
His ability to make all members of the community laugh will be forever etched in the memory of all who knew him.
Elmer is survived by his wife, Marquerite Alberti; daughter, Glenda and her husband, Earl; son, Earl and his wife, Demetra; son, Ed and his wife, Laurie; sisters, Alice and Leona; and a brother, Donald. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by siblings, Clyde, Lesley, Richard, and Marge.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2014, at the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury. Officiating were the Rev. Dottie Morris and the Rev. Martha Vink.
Calling hours were held at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2014. Committal is in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Prattsville.
