Edna Squires

Edna Mary Squires, 68, of Sun City Center, FL passed away at 8 p.m. on May 27, 2012 after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born on April 13, 1944 to Edward and Edna Zebrowski on Staten Island. Following her parents up to the Catskills in 1979, Edna met the love of her life and husband of 32 years, Stanley L Squires. They lived in Margaretville where Edna worked as a legal secretary. In July of 2000 Stan and Edna moved to Sun City Center, FL, fulfilling her dream of living under palm trees and dancing on white sand beaches.

Edna continued to work as a legal secretary in Florida and spent many days at the beach with her family, playing in the waves with the grandkids and collecting shells and sharks teeth with Stan.
Edna is survived by her beloved husband, Stanley L. Squires of Sun City Center, FL; a daughter, Laura L. McCabe of Bradenton, FL, and seven grandchildren, Kaitlin S. McCabe of Acton, MA, Carly N. Villatoro of Bradenton, FL, Chad Villatoro, Randall Villatoro, Savannah Villatoro, Jude Deems and Brandon Deems of Northport, FL.

She was also predeceased by her youngest daughter, Sharon L. Villatoro.

To all her family and friends that are surprised to hear of Edna’s illness and passing, please know it was not her wish to deceive, but only to live as normal and as happy a life with the time she had left on this earth. She held you all very closely in her heart. Edna will be greatly missed by many.
Edna’s ashes will be committed to the earth at a future date in the family plot at the Margaretville Cemetery Annex.
