Memorial services for Doris Tuttle, 88, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., will be held June 20, at 11 a.m. at the Margaretville Cemetery.
Doris was born in Davenport, N.Y. She and her late husband, Arthur, moved to Margaretville during World War II where they owned and operated a paint store on Main Street for many years.
Doris graduated from Bloomville High School at the age of 16.
Following business school she worked for many attorneys. She was proficient at shorthand and used her many legal skills as a forerunner of today’s Paralegal. Doris worked as a county court stenographer. She was a businesswoman, tax consultant and town clerk but above all else was the mother of five.
Surviving are her children, Frank (Beth) of Latham, Donald (Shirley) of Davenport, Fla., Marcia Hollander of Deerfield Beach, Fla; Barbara (Richard) Andersen of Levittown and Vicky (Joseph) DiLeo of Port St. Lucie, Fla. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
