Dance-a-Thon party planned for April 18

It will be party time when the fabulous Blues Maneuver plays at the third annual Dance-a-Thon on Saturday, April 18 at 7 p.m. at Belleayre Mountain’s Upper Lodge in Highmount. The event is a fund-raiser for the Auxiliary of Margaretville Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center.
While dance lessons will one again be part of the action, the evening’s focus will be on hitting the dance floor and socializing.
“The Dance-a-Thon has continued to grow. Our primary emphasis is on fun. Having the live band will greatly enhance the party atmosphere,” noted hospital board member Fred Margulies.
The evening will feature just about every type of music. During the instruction segments, Rose and Gordy Stahl will demonstrate and teach country line dancing, and professional dance teacher Kyla Marion will offer some new swing steps.
There’ll be a generous buffet dinner, topped off by a huge assortment of homemade desserts supplied by auxiliary members.
There will also be door prizes and a silent auction, with many great prizes, including an iPod donated by Tekserve and a family weekend for four from Frost Valley YMCA in Claryville.
Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. You’re encouraged to make your purchases early because last year’s event was sold out.
Tickets may be purchased at the new Auxiliary Thrift Shop, 850 Main Street, Margaretville, opposite B&D Motors.
In addition, checks payable to the Margaretville Hospital Auxiliary (along with a stamped self-addressed envelope), may be mailed to Pat Kolar c/o Margaretville Hospital, 42084 state Highway 28, Margaretville, NY 12455.
For further information, please call Mrs. Kolar at 845 586-2631, ext. 3145.
Proceeds from each Dance-a-Thon are specifically geared toward an auxiliary fund-raising project. Money raised at this year’s event will be applied to the auxiliary’s goal of purchasing a new four-wheel drive ambulance.
