Cynthia A. Farleigh, 67, of Roxbury, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Hospice Inn at Saint Peter’s Hospital in Albany. She was born in Wind Gap, Pa., on August 17, 1940, the daughter of Clarence and Gladys Williams Kolb. She married Wheldon J. Farleigh on June 3, 1961 at Wind Gap, Pa.
Cynthia was a resident of Roxbury for the past 40 years, where she was an active member of the Jay Gould Memorial Reformed Church, Roxbury.
She was employed by Main Care Energy (formerly Lutz Oil Company) as a bookkeeper until her retirement in 2003.
Cynthia enjoyed cooking, baking and collecting antique glass. She also enjoyed long car rides in search of covered candy dishes and clothing for her cherished grandchildren.
Cynthia was the loving wife of Wheldon (Joe) Farleigh, Roxbury; mother of Joe (Patti) Farleigh, Albany and Stephen Farleigh, Grahamsville; Grammy of Caleb and Danielle, Albany and sister of Jerilyn (Jay) Schweitzer, Pennsylvania.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 26 at the Jay Gould Memorial Reformed Church, Roxbury with the Rev. Richard Dykstra, officiating.
Committal service will be private in the Roxbury Cemetery.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Jay Gould Memorial Reformed Church, P.O. Box 267, Roxbury, NY 12474 or the Hospice Inn, St. Peter’s Hospital, 315 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
The thanks of the family is extended to the staff at the Women’s Cancer Care Center and St. Peter’s Hospital for the care and support they provided to Cynthia, and the special care offered by the Rev. Richard Dykstra.
