County Chamber announces awards
Delhi — The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce will recognize several businesses and individuals for their service to the county’s business community at its 2009 Annual Awards Dinner.
Delhi Telephone has been selected as Business of the Year. "They continue to research the telecommuting needs of their individual and business customers regularly," stated Mary Beth Silano, executive director of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce. "As we all know, Delaware County struggles with the need for adequate Internet access. With their recent upgrades; high-speed Internet service, fiber and wireless, coupled with their cable and telephone access, Delhi Telephone relentlessly works in the best interest of the Delaware County business community.”
New Business of the Year will be awarded to Integrated Wood Components of Deposit. “Integrated Wood Components opened their business two years ago. Their main products are retail displays, kitchen cabinets and a packaging company for steel and aluminum companies. Beginning with 12 employees, they have now created a total of 44 jobs and are truly dedicated in expanding our local economy,” stated Silano.
The Arnold Banker Tourism Property Award will be presented Hanford Mills Museum. “Each year over 8,000 visitors experience the power of history as they explore the history of power. Liz Callahan, director of Hanford Mills has participated in and encouraged countywide and regional tourism collaborations, and has worked closely with the county’s tourism program. Hanford Mills is committed to celebrating and promoting all of the county’s rich cultural resources,” stated Silano.
“I’m very pleased to have New York State Assemblyman Bill Reilich as key-note speaker this year, states Silano. Assemblyman Bill Reilich is chairman of the Assembly Small Business Task Force and will be addressing major issues our small businesses in Delaware County are and will be facing.”
The Delaware County Chamber’s Annual Dinner will be held September 17, cocktail hour beginning at 5:30 with dinner and awards to follow at The Andes Hotel. Dinner is $60 per person, $115 per couple. Seating is limited.
