Colorful fall show at RAG
Color abounds in an exciting new exhibit opening on September 20 in The Old Bank Gallery of The Roxbury Arts Group. Painter Ann Larsen and photographer Gary Larsen, Adirondack artists, are showing a collection of work that showcases the American landscape from a wide range of perspectives. The unifying principal here is color and texture in Ann’s glowing representational paintings and in Gary’s photographic images that preserve the subtle light and shadows of the landscapes, aging structures and gorgeous flora. The exhibit runs through November 3. An artists’ reception will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 2-4 p.m.
Ann Larsen received her B.A. in painting at the University of Central Oklahoma and has studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and Indiana University. She has exhibited widely in juried shows throughout the country and has been honored by the Oil Painters of America, American Women Artists and the Guild of Adirondack Artists.
Ann prepares small field studies done “plein air” as subjects for the larger paintings.
Gary Larsen has exhibited his work widely and worked for many years as a professional commercial photographer. He is particularly fascinated with the beauty that emerges from aging structures and weathered rock.
Gallery hours are Tuesday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4p.m., and by appointment. Call 607 326-7908.
