Clarence Gibson

Clarence D. Gibson, 93, formerly of Andes died Monday, Jan. 6, 2014 at HealthAlliance Hospital, Broadway Campus in Kingston.
Born September 13, 1920 on Wolf Hollow Road in Andes, he was a son of the late George and Maria (Reynolds) Gibson.
Clarence was employed in the maintenance division for the State University of New York at Delhi until his retirement in1983. He was also a volunteer fireman for the Andes Fire Department.
Surviving are his daughter, Susan Gibson of Kingston and stepchildren, Frederick Wilson and his wife Donna of Glendale, AZ and Robert Wilson and his wife Carol of Roxbury. Twelve grandchildren and several great grandchildren also survive.
Clarence’s wife, Wanda (Fuller) Wilson Gibson died in 1987. His children, William Gibson and Donna McDonald; a step-daughter, Marilyn Benitez; siblings, Myrtle Ackerly, Maude Murphy, Lee Gibson and Clifford Gibson, Clarence’s twin brother, all died previously.
Cremation arrangements are under the guidance of the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Smith Avenue Kingston, Cremation will take place at Wiltwyck Crematory in Kingston, and a private family inurnment will take place at the Andes Cemetery in the spring.
