Clara Maud Finch, 95, of Hog Mountain Road, Fleischmanns, died Wednesday, Jan. 28. 2009 at the A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta.
She was born May 27, 1913 in Binghamton, the daughter of the late Herbert and Nancy St. John Schmidt.
Maud had been an area resident for over 65 years.
She was active in the Clovesville Baptist Church and served as the pianist for the church. She had taught home economics at the Fleischmanns High School and also taught at the Roxbury Central School for five years.
Surviving are four sons, Richard of Middleburgh, Herb and Ward of Fleischmanns and Paul of North Carolina. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Finch.
A service to celebrate the life of Maud was on Monday, Feb. 2 at 1 p.m. at the E.B. Gormley Funeral Home, 87 Main St., Phoenicia with the Rev. Donald Clubb of the Phoenicia Wesleyan Church officiating.
Burial will be in the Bedell Cemetery, Fleischmanns.
