Business "Boast & Toast" planned for April 7 in Delhi

Delhi — The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce (DCCC) has announced the introduction of quarterly “Boast & Toast” meet-ups for tourism businesses in Delaware County. As the Tourism Promotion Agency (TPA) for the county, DCCC has developed the meet-ups to provide networking and activity sharing for those business owners that fuel the local tourism economy.
The first “Boast & Toast” meet-up has been scheduled for Monday, April 7, and will be hosted at The Shire Pub from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Participants will celebrate successes of the previous quarter and be invited to share with the crowd their plans for the coming season. A brochure exchange will also be offered to participants. All tourism-related businesses are invited and are required to RSVP by visiting by March 31, as space is limited.
“In a county the size of Rhode Island, our tourism businesses rarely have the opportunity to gather, celebrate and share their efforts, but it is that most basic approach to building a networked community that creates great value for our tourism visitors,” said Mary Beth Silano, DCCC executive director. “The goal of these meet-ups is to showcase and share those efforts. The next time a visitor asks one of the meet-up attendees for a recommendation on what to see or do while they are here, our hope is that they can point them in the direction of a neighboring Delaware County business.”
As the tourism season in the Great Western Catskills comes into swing, a new tourism website is in development that will provide more features and information for prospective and on-the-ground visitors. This and the many other integrated marketing activities the TPA has launched, from a new travel guide, travel shows and press tours, to newsletters, advertising, and mailings, seek to grow awareness for of our region and provide economic opportunities to the businesses that serve as its hosts.
