Brunch, music and auction featured at Open Eye event
Margaretville — The Open Eye Theater’s annual Harvest Brunch Buffet and Auction takes the spotlight on Sunday, Nov. 9 from noon to 3 p.m. at The Open Eye Theater, 960 Main Street, Margaretville. Featured in the all-you-can-eat brunch buffet is a spectacular whole fresh baked salmon (courtesy of Mary’s Fish Market), a variety of homemade quiches, custom made pancakes with fresh butter and pure maple syrup, ham, bacon, sausage, breads, fresh fruit, salads, roast turkey, pies and much, much more.
Patti Van Tassel and the Gentlemen of Leisure will accompany the feast with a selection of jazz, pop and Broadway show tunes. Auction items may be previewed during the brunch.
At 1 p.m. sharp, Chuck McIntosh, of McIntosh Auction will begin selling the outstanding array of items contributed to The Open Eye fund-raiser. Headlining the prized, rare and one-of-a-kind items going on the block is a custom aerial photo shoot of your Catskill Mountain property, village or business by New York Aerial Photography, complete with a proof book from which to select your favorite image, an 11x 17 print, and custom framing. Also among the treasures being offered are an Oriental rug; a one-hour Swedish Massage from BodyWorx; ski packages from Belleayre and Ski Plattekill; gourmet, spa and fitness gift baskets; lunch for two at Café de Paris; a misses pale rose suede jacket with white embroidery detail; haircut and styling by Candace Rudd; custom-baked pies for your special occasion; a set of three framed etchings.
Also, antiquarian books including The Stage and its Stars Past and Present: A gallery of dramatic illustration and critical biographies of distinguished English and American actors from the time of Shakespeare till today by Howard Paul, published in 1887; and much, much more. Proceeds from the event will be used to support the cultural and educational programs of The Open Eye Theater.
Harvest Brunch Buffet and Auction tickets may be purchased in advance for $15; or $20 at the door. Children age 6-12 are $5 and under 5 are free. Brunch, entertainment and auction item preview begins at noon; auction begins at 1 p.m. sharp. Left bids will be accepted.
