Black Ice causes rollover accident on Route 30

A Margaretville woman was pinned in her car and had to be freed by firemen using the Jaws of Life following a rollover accident last Wednesday on Route 30 in the Town of Roxbury. Roxbury Constable Steve Williamson told the News that a 2002 Toyota operated by Linda K. DeLong, 64, was northbound on Route 30 when the driver lost control on black ice and exited the road. The car went into a deep ditch and rolled, coming to rest on its roof. Firemen from Margaretville, Halcottsville and Roxbury responded to the scene and used the Roxbury Department’s Jaws of Life to free DeLong from the vehicle. She was then transported to Margaretville Hospital where she was treated for unspecified injuries. — Photo by Dick Sanford
