Auxiliary volunteers earn accolades

The sun was shining on the 41st annual Antique, Craft & Flea Market sponsored by the Auxiliary of Margaretville Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center on August 1. This was another banner year with many vendors participating and patrons coming through the gates.
This event is made possible by all the volunteers who work at the entrance gates, making early morning coffee and serving donuts, food concessions cooking and selling hamburgers and hotdogs, chicken barbecue, wellness committee, membership table, quilt table, and the soda and water. And let us not forget the efforts and expertise of the finance committee. With the coordination of Doug Hinkley and Lee Austin, Co-Chairs, this event is a great success, raising over $13,500.00. Thank you Doug and Lee. It has been a pleasure working with you for the past two years.
Auxiliary President Sue Adams offered thanks to all who participated and made the 41st Annual Antique, Craft & Flea Market a great success, especially those who worked closely with Chairpersons, Rob Allison and Rettew Engineering for field layout.
She cited Lee Austin, Nancy Reynolds, John Riedl, Brandon Bush, Ethan Bush, Bill Piervencenzi, and the village maintenance crew for the fence and field preparation. Bill Russell and the Middletown town crew for putting up the fence, Margaretville Fire Department for use of fence/
Also, Bloomville Disposal Trash removal, Uncle Bob’s Porta Johns, Colleen McDaniel and Cathy Hinkley, and Iris Mead for vendor check-in. Gary Atkin, Charles DiGiacomo , JR Lawrence , Phil 0’Beirne, Gary Marks, Jeremey Marks, Nathan Marks and Larry Roadman for placement of vendors. JR Lawrence, John Reidl, Lee Austin, Randy Adams, Gary Smith, Bill Malanga, for field cleanup, employees of MTC for their help during the year.
Other thanks were offered to Lee Austin for coordinating the concessions, Joan Holly and Al Doubrava along for coordinating the soft drinks, Karol and Jon Adams for coordinating the entrance gates, John Reidl for the wellness table and Fentriss Stickeler for coordinating the membership drive.
Nancy Ericson and her crew were praised for setting up the quilt table, Joe Grieco for donating the donuts and serving the coffee along with Rich Schaedle at 4 a.m., Adams Fair Acre Farms for donating the hot dogs, Roni and Ed Daley for advertisement, the Margaretville Rotary Club, Betty Griffin and Peg Sweeney for coordinating the baked goods. Also, Betty DeSilva, Russell Schebesta, Carol Jean Finch for coordinating the financials, Connie Mathiesen for coordinating the food order with Lee, Butch Williams and the hospital staff for coordinating the table and chairs, Marilyn Donnelly and the staff of Margaretville Hospital for donating their time and efforts to man the provide blood pressure checks and glucose testing, Bertha VonHassel for donating the potato salad and cole slaw, Bill Blish and Glen Faulkner who cooked the chicken and Freshtown Supermarket.
