Author to visit Andes for program on Friday
By John Bernhardt
One of the highlights of 2011 Andes Central School Travel Club’s adventure in southern California was a visit to the home of Jodie and Jason Womack.
The Womacks, a husband and wife team, operate The Jason Womack Company. Jason, an author, motivational speaker and productivity expert, provides workplace performance workshops and executive coaching for clients around the world.
The Womacks invited the Andes contingent to their home where all enjoyed swapping stories over a pizza dinner, then Jason walked the ACS students through a motivation seminar. Each student was given a soft-cover copy of Jason’s motivation workbook, “The Promise Doctrine.” Jason explained how to use the resource and got the students started on a process of self discovery using the book. The Womacks also introduced the students and Andes staff to “Ted Talks” a series of Internet talks designed to jumpstart the creative process.
Recently, Jason completed a new book, “Your Best Just Got Better,” and scheduled a promotional tour in the Northeast to tout his latest title. As part of his tour, Jason decided to catch up with his old friends in Andes. Womack will be visiting Delaware County with a full slate of activities at Andes Central School this Friday.
Womack will conduct two programs for students, meeting with students in grades seven through 10 from 8 to 9 a.m. in the morning and juniors and seniors the following hour. Womack will conduct staff development for Andes teachers and staff from 12:30 through 2:30 p.m. A community ‘meet and greet’ and book signing with take place following the staff development session between 2:30 and 4 p.m. An evening book signing is scheduled for Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Blue Bee Café in Delhi.
