Author of 'The Best Color' to sign Saturday at Bibliobarn
Margaretville — The Bibliobarn, located behind the Commons building on Main Street, will host a book signing and reception for Fleischmanns author Barbara Taff and her book, The Best Colors, on Saturday, July 7 at 2 p.m.
The Best Colors, written and illustrated by local artist Barbara Taff, is a fun story for children to learn about diversity and teamwork through color mixing.
In the book, the primary colors red, yellow and blue are characters that compete to be the best color. Poking fun at egotism and prejudice, in a light-hearted manner, The Best Colors can be a conversation starter with children to talk about differences and how to resolve them while learning about art.
A mixed-media artist, Taff unites her expertise in cartooning, graphic design, writing and teaching in The Best Colors. An award-winning graphic designer and creator of whimsical scenario sculptures that were exhibited in a solo show at the Roxbury Arts Group in 2006, Taff holds a master’s degree in art education from Pratt Institute in New York.
Born in Rochester, Taff lives in New York City and Fleischmanns.
