Arminda Couto Pinto, 90, of Andes, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012 at the home of her daughter in Andes.
She was born August 27, 1921 in Portugal, the daughter of Luiz and Maria (deJesus) Couto.
She married Americo Pinto April 2, 1941. He predeceased her in 2000.
Arminda worked as a book processor for the Pleasantville Packing Company in Pleasantville.
She was a resident of Ossining until moving to live with her daughter, Maria, in Andes 12 years ago.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Gerald Norris; a son and daughter-in-law, Fernando and Mirtha Pinto, a son, Jose Pinto; brother-in-law and wife, Jose and Elena Pinto; brother-in-law and wife, Ferando and Alice Pinto; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews
She was predeceased by her husband, Americo Pinto; two sons, Joaquin and Manuel Pinto.
A prayer service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19 at the Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville.
A calling hour will be held from 1 p.m. Thursday until service time at 2 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Innocents R.C. Church in Pleasantville on Saturday, Jan. 21.
Burial at All Souls Cemetery, Pleasantville.
