Area Police News: September 11, 2013
Edgar Arcerodriguez, 23, Arkville was charged with speeding and unlawful possession of marijuana after he was stopped by state police on Route 28 in the Town of Middletown shortly before 3 p.m. on September 2. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable September 26 in Middletown Court.
Michael E. Chairvolotti, 42, of Arkville was charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol, driving with unsafe tires, no front lights and having an inadequate muffler after he was stopped by state police on Route 28 in the Town of Middletown at 10:45 p.m. on September 5. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable September 12 in Middletown Court.
Erik Possai, 20, of Bemus Point was charged with unsafe starting and unlawful possession of marijuana after he stopped by state police on Route 23 in the Town of Harpersfield shortly before 6 p.m. on September 6. A passenger, Kevin Gonzalez, 18, of Laurelton was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Both men were issued appearance tickets returnable September 30 in Harpersfield Town Court.
Matthew Tait, 19, of Delhi was charged with driving with an inadequate muffler and unlawful possession of marijuana after he was stopped by state police on Arbor Hill Road in the Town of Middletown on September 7 at 2:10 p.m. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Delhi Court on September 24.
Delaware County Deputies arrested Christopher R. Bracci, 20, of Delhi on September 7 for DWI, failure to submit to a chemical test, improper use of dealer plates and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Bracci was arraigned in the Town of Delhi Justice Court and sent to the county jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail.
Daniel P. Dlouhy, 46, of Phoenicia was arrested by Shandaken Police on September 6 and charged with third-degree assault and second-degree strangulation following a domestic dispute with his girlfriend the previous evening.
Police say that during the dispute Dlouhy allegedly chocked his girlfriend causing injuries to her neck and also, during the dispute he received injuries from a kitchen knife for which he was later treated at Margaretville Hospital.
He was issued appearance tickets returnable in Shandaken Justice Court.
Two area teens were charged with drug possession, including marijuana and hallucinogenic mushrooms, on August 28 after police stopped the car in which they were riding for speeding on Route 28 in the Town of Andes.
Police say they charged Benjamin B. Houshmand, 18, of Andes with speeding, unlawful possession of marijuana and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
They also charged Barbara J. Morrow, 16, of Fleischmanns with unlawful possession of marijuana and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Both defendants were arraigned in Town of Roxbury Justice Court and released to reappear in the Town of Andes Justice Court on September 24 at 1 p.m.
