Area Police News: Sept. 30, 2009
Tammy L. Torres, 36, of Binghamton was arrested by state police Saturday and charged with DWAI drugs after she was stopped on Betty Brook Road in the Town of Kortright after police received a report of a vehicle being operated erratically. Police say they stopped Torres and found an unmarked vile containing an unknown liquid; which was secured for testing. Torres was transported to Margaretville Hospital where a blood sample was taken. Torres was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Kortright Justice Court on Oct. 13.
Edward K. Heisinger, 47, of Roxbury was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 16 and charged with criminal contempt, first-degree harassment and reckless endangerment after he allegedly violated an order of protection that had been granted to a local woman. Police say Heisinger followed her car, cut her off and stopped in front of her forcing her to turn around. He than allegedly followed her at a very close distance until she went to the Roxbury Town Constable for assistance. Heisinger was arraigned in Roxbury Justice Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail to await further court action.
Fernando S. Tully, 28, of Oneonta was arrested by state police on September 19 and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation after his vehicle was stopped in Stamford for having a loud exhaust. Also arrested in the incident was Nicole M. Bell, 21, of Endicott who police charged with facilitating an aggravated unlicensed operation when she switched places with Bell. Both subjects were issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Harpersfield Justice Court.
Goya G. Keller, 37, of Bloomville was arrested by state police Sunday and charged with DWI after she was stopped in Stamford for not wearing a seat belt.
Police say they charged Keller when her blood alcohol content allegedly tested .19 percent.
She was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Stamford Village Justice Court on October 21.
Michael A. Bohan, 56, of Fleischmanns was arrested by state police Saturday and charged with DWI after police received a complaint regarding an erratic driver on Route 28 in Fleischmanns. Police say they stopped Bohan and charged him with DWI after he allegedly failed a field sobriety test. Bohan was arraigned in Town of Middletown Justice Court and released on $500 cash bail.
George V. Sawyer, 29, of Andes was arrested by state police on September 21 and charged with DWI after he was involved in a property damage accident on Old Gladstone Hollow Road in the Town of Andes. Police say they charged Sawyer when his blood alcohol level allegedly tested .15 percent. In addition to DWI, Sawyer was charged with felony DWI and felony aggravate unlicensed operation. He was issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Andes Justice Court on Oct. 8.
Ren Pierce, 27, of Roxbury faces a number of traffic violations after he was stopped on Route 28 in the Town of Middletown for having a loud exhaust. Police say they also charged Pierce with driving an unregistered motor vehicle, unlicensed operation, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and with driving an uninspected motor vehicle. He was issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Middletown Justice Court on October 19.
