Area Police News: October 3, 2012

Shandaken Police report the arrest of a Queens woman for an alleged past assault that took place at a wedding reception on August 25 in Mt. Tremper. Police state that April M. Grech, 31, struck another woman who was attending the same wedding causing a laceration, bruising, and vision problems. Grech was charged with third-degree assault and released with an appearance ticket returnable on October 18 in Shandaken Justice Court.

Members of the Town of Shandaken Police Department report that they responded to a call for lost hikers at the Woodland Valley Camp Ground on Saturday. Police report that members of a Boy Scout Troop from Terryville were hiking on the Wittenberg-Cornell trail when one of the scouts became ill. Shandaken Police, along with New York State Forest Rangers, state police, Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, the Phoenicia Fire Department and Shandaken Ambulance hiked in and escorted the group out of the woods.
All parties were evaluated by members of the Shandaken Ambulance Squad and refused any medical attention.

Jason M. Swart, 29, of Grand Gorge was arrested by state police on September 29 and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after he was allegedly found to be in possession of a bag of marijuana when the car in which he was a passenger was stopped on Route 23 in Grand Gorge.
Police say they issued Swart an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Roxbury Justice Court on October 17 at 7 p.m.

Jodi L. Dillman, 38, of Stamford was arrested by state police on September 6 and charged with petit larceny after she allegedly picked up another person’s prescriptions for drugs at the Rite Aide Pharmacy in Stamford.
Dillman was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Harpersfield Justice Court on October 15.
