Area Police News: November 9, 2011

Shannon L. Chojnowski, 34, of Roxbury was arrested by Shandaken Police on November 1 and charged with DWI after she was stopped for a traffic violation.
Shandaken Deputies say they also charged Chojnowski with being an unlicensed operator and with failure to signal a lane change.
She was arraigned in Shandaken Justice Court and sent to the Ulster County Jail on cash bail.

Edward J. Vitale, 22, of Highmount was arrested by state police on October 31 and charged with DWI after he allegedly failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of Route 28 and Main Street in Fleischmanns. Police say they charged Vitale when his blood alcohol content allegedly tested .16 percent. He was issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Middletown Justice Court on November 10 at 9 a.m.

Thomas W. Burns, 65, of Bovina was arrested by state police on November 4 and charged with DWI after he allegedly forced a DEC ECON officer to take evasive action in order to avoid a collision when Burns failed to keep right on Scutt Mountain Road in the Town of Stamford.
Burns was also charged with failure to keep right and then released to appear in Town of Stamford Justice Court on November 22 at 6 p.m.

Henry Ferber, 22, of Callicoon was arrested on November 5 on a bench warrant issued by the Stamford Court charging him with issuing a bad check.
Ferber was arraigned and sent to the county jail in lieu of $750 cash bail to await further court action.

Stephen Kosier, 33, of Jefferson was arrested by state police on November 5 and charged with exposure of a person after a trooper allegedly witnessed him urinating off the front deck of a Stamford restaurant.
Kosier was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Village of Stamford Justice Court on December 21 at 7 p.m.
