Area Police News: May 7, 2008

Richard A. Pabon, 26, of Gloversville was arrested by state police Friday on an outstanding warrant that had been issued by the Town of Roxbury Justice Court. Pabon was arraigned in Roxbury Justice Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $12,000 cash bail. State police were assisted in the arrest by Roxbury Constable Steve Williamson.

Daniel R. Winne, 19, of Rhinebeck was arrested Wednesday by state police and charged with DWI after he was stopped on Glen Burnie Road in the Town of Delhi. Police say they charged Winne when his blood alcohol level allegedly tested .11 percent. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Delhi Justice Court on May 14.

Robert M. Venth, 36, of Bloomville was arrested Friday by state police and charged with DWI after he was stopped on county Route 12 in the Town of Kortright for driving without headlights. Police report that they charged Venth with DWI when his blood alcohol content allegedly tested .17 percent, more than twice the legal limit. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Kortright Justice Court on May 27.

Three people were charged with the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle Saturday after the vehicle’s Stamford owner complained to state police that it had been taken without his permission. Charged in the case were Charles J. Stella, 21, of Schenectady, Laura K. Kieru, 23, of Grand Gorge and Nicole K. Shearer, 21, of Stamford. All three defendants were arraigned in Town of Stamford Justice Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $500 cash bail.
