Area Police News: June 18, 2014

Delaware County Deputies arrested Candice A. Maxim, 24, of Grand Gorge on June 1 for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and misapplication of property following an incident where Maxim allegedly used a vehicle without permission of the owner.
Maxim was arraigned in Stamford Town Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $750 cash bail pending further court action.
Delaware County Deputies arrested Laurie Hitchcock, 22, and Frank Manon, 27, both of Kortright, on June 9 on criminal summonses issued by the Town of Kortright Justice Court charging each of them with second-degree harassment.
The arrests are a result of the parties engaging in a physical altercation with each other.
Delaware County Deputies arrested Laurie Hitchcock, 22, of Kortright on June 9 for endangering the welfare of a child following an incident where Hitchcock allegedly engaged in a physical altercation with a child less than 17 years old.
Hitchcock was arraigned in the Kortright Town Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $500 cash bail.
In addition to the arrest, Hitchcock was issued a criminal summons for the charge of second-degree harassment to be answered at a later date.
Melissa J. Darran, 36, of Grand Gorge was arrested by state police on June 5 and charged with third-degree grand larceny after she allegedly stole $7,300 in cash from her mother’s home over a period of several months. Police say Darren told them that she took the money from a safe in the home and used it to purchase drugs for her and her husband.
Darren was arraigned in Town of Roxbury Justice Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail to await a felony hearing.
Luke N. Zakka, 29, of Halcott Center was arrested by state police on June 14 and charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after he was stopped on Route 28 in the Town of Middletown for a traffic violation.
Zakka was arraigned in Roxbury Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail to await further court action.
