Area Police News: July 30, 2014

William W. Hrazanek, 68, of Fleischmanns was arrested by state police on July 22 and charged with fourth-degree crim­inal solicitation after two men working for him allegedly removed several items of personal property from a residence on John Tuttle Road in the Town of Middletown. Police say that Hrazanek had told the two men that he had purchased the property from Delaware County in the county’s tax sale but that the sale had not been completed.
Among the items that the two men had loaded on a truck and trailer were an ATV, a riding lawn mower, and a tent. When confronted by a resident of John Tuttle Road, the two men returned the items to the home.
Police say the property had been posted and that the county treasurer had told Hrazanek that he had no right to trespass on the property. Police say an inventory of items from the house on the property showed other items were missing from the house.
Hrazanek was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Middletown Justice Court on July 31 at 9 a.m.
Benjamin H. Dorrance, 26, of Grand Gorge was arrested by state police on July 23 and faces charges of endangering the welfare of a child, fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment following a domestic dispute in front of their children.
Chelsea J. Martin, 22, of Davenport was arrested by state police on July 26 and charged with DWI and unlawful possession of marijuana after police noticed her vehicle stopped on Route 28 in Andes facing the wrong way.
Police say they charged Martin when her blood alcohol content allegedly tested .19 percent.
She was issued tickets returnable in Town of Andes Justice Court on August 14 at 5 p.m.
State police arrested two women on July 24 and charged each of them with drug-related offenses after they were allegedly observed driving very slowly on Route 28 in Margaretville.
Police say they charged the driver, Kristin M. Alers, 22, of East Branch with DWAI drugs, and several traffic infractions, including impeding traffic. They charged a passenger, Vanessa M. Sanchez, 34, of Liberty with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after they allegedly found two syringe plungers in her possession. Both women were issued tickets returnable in Middletown Justice Court.
