Area Police News: July 25, 2012
On July 21 Delaware County Deputies arrested Jean M Fenton, 53, of Margaretville for second-degree criminal contempt, a class “A” misdemeanor. It is alleged that Fenton violated an order of protection that was issued by the Delaware County Family Court. She was issued an appearance ticket returnable on August 6 at 9 a.m. at the Middletown Town Court.
Liberty G. Beauvais, 38, of Jefferson was arrested by state police on July 17 and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and operating without insurance after he was stopped on Route 23 in Grand Gorge for having no inspection sticker.
Police say they also arrested a passenger in the car, Brandon M. Beauvais, 17, of Grand Gorge charging him with unlawful possession of marijuana.
Both men were issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Roxbury Justice Court on August 1.
James B. Menzies, 43,m of Ridgewood was arrested by state police on July 17 and faces a number of traffic charges, including second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, after he was stopped on Harper Street in Harpersfield for a traffic violation.
Menzies was arraigned in Town of Stamford Justice Court where he posted $1,200 cash bail to reappear at a later date.
Paul C. Garofolo, 39, of Margaretville was arrested by state police on July 19 and charged with first-degree criminal contempt for allegedly violating an order of protection. Police say Garafolo, who is currently in the county jail, made a number of phone calls to a woman in violation of the order of protection.
Justin D. Burroughs, 27, of Grand Gorge was arrested by state police on July 22 and charged with DWI after he was stopped on Main Street in Stamford for a traffic violation.
Police say they charged Burroughs when his blood alcohol level allegedly tested .14 percent.
Burroughs was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and several other traffic violations.
He was issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Stamford Justice Court on August 14.
Melissa K. Constable, 38, of Mount Vision was arrested by state police on July 17 and charged with DWI drugs following an accident on Route 10 in South Kortright.
Police say they issued Constable an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Kortright Justice Court on August 7.
