Area Police News: July 11, 2012

On July 8 Delaware County Deputies investigated an ATV accident on Old Route 28 in Fleischmanns. Santos Flores, 31, of Fleischmanns was operating his ATV when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree off of the roadway.
Flores was issued uniform traffic tickets for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, unregistered ATV, operating without a helmet and unlawful operation of an ATV on a public highway, all returnable to the Town of Middletown Court. Flores is scheduled to appear before the aforementioned court on July 26 at 9 a.m.
Santos was transported by a private vehicle to Margaretville Hospital to seek medical attention for a head injury that he sustained as a result of the accident. Deputies were assisted on the scene by the Fleischmanns Fire Department.

John C. Todd, 30, of Roxbury was arrested by state police on July 3 and charged with violating an order of protection. Todd was arraigned in Town of Middletown Justice Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail to await further court action.

Charles C. Loucks, 49, of Oneonta was arrested by state police on July 3 and charged with DWI after he was stopped at a scheduled road check on Route 23 in the Town of Oneonta.
Police say they charged Loucks when his blood alcohol level allegedly tested .13 percent. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Oneonta Justice Court on August 7.

Nicholas J. Hanley, 23, of Arkville was arrested by state police on July 4 and charged with DWI after troopers noticed his car at a pull off area on Route 30 in the Town of Middletown and stopped to see if everything was all right.
Police say they charged Hanley when his blood alcohol level allegedly tested .16 percent. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Middletown Justice Court on July 26.

Erik G. Hall, 19, of Fleischmanns was arrested by state police on July 4 on a bench warrant charging him with failure to pay a previously levied fine.
Hall was arraigned in Town of Middletown Justice Court and remanded to the county jail for 15 days or until his fines are paid in full.

State police arrested Steven Katz, 50, of Merrick on July 5 charging him with DWI following a property damage accident on county Route 6 in Bovina.
Police say they charged Katz after he failed a standard field sobriety test. A blood test was taken at Margaretville Hospital, the results were not released.
Katz was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Bovina Justice Court on August 7.

Humberto Munoz-Rodriguez, 50, of Gilboa was arrested by state police on July 7 and charged with driving with a suspended license after he was stopped on Route 23 in Stamford for an equipment violation.
Munoz-Rodriguez was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Stamford Justice Court on July 10.

Frank A. Darmody, 32, of Stamford faces a number of charges after he was stopped by state police on July 2 in Hobart.
Police say they charged Darmody with unlawful possession of marijuana, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, uninspected motorcycle, operating without insurance and operating out of class.
He was issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Stamford Court on August 14.

Drew D. Sylvester, 20, of Andes was arrested by state police on July 4 and charged with one count of petit larceny after he allegedly stole five packages of Italian sausage, several cans of beer and other food items from the Margaretville pavilion.
Sylvester was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Middletown Justice Court on July 26.

Jason M. Shader, 22, of Harpersfield was arrested by state police on July 4 and charged with the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle after he allegedly used a Stamford woman’s car without her permission.
Shader was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Roxbury Justice Court on July 25.
Shader was also charged with petit larceny after he was found to be in possession of a food item allegedly taken from Stewart’s in Stamford where police found him while looking for him on the unauthorized vehicle use charge.
He was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Harpersfield Justice Court on July 9.

James G. Lor, 20, of Margaretville was arrested by state police on July 7 and charged with DWI after he was stopped on Route 23 in Stamford for having a loud exhaust.
Police say they also charged Lor with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, no seat belt, inadequate exhaust and with having an open container in the vehicle.
Lor was issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Harpersfield Justice Court on July 16.

Maxi Motchan, 17, of the Bronx was arrested by state police on July 7 after he was stopped on Route 30 in the Town of Middletown for a traffic violation.
Police say they charged Motchan with unlicensed operation, failure to keep right and unlawful possession of marijuana.
He was issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Middletown Justice Court on July 26.

Scott A. Evanchof, 28, of Catskill was arrested on July 5 by Shandaken Police after he was stopped for a traffic violation and found to be in possession of marijuana.
Evanchof was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. He was remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.
