Area Police News: January 23, 2013

Michael P. Stein, 18, of Delhi was arrested by state police on January 21 and charged with unlawfully growing marijuana following an argument with his father at their home in Delhi. Police responded to the scene for a domestic dispute and allegedly discovered several small marijuana plants growing in soda cans filled with dirt.
In a related incident, police also charged Stein’s mother, Christie L. Rudd, 36, of Delhi with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation after she drove to the scene and police discovered that her license is suspended.

Thomas Greene, 45, of Arkville was arrested by state police on January 17 and charged with DWI after he was stopped for speeding on Route 28 in the Town of Middletown.
Greene was issued appearance tickets returnable in Middletown Court on January 31 at 9 a.m.

Joseph W. Bame, 41, of Harpersfield was arrested on January 20 and charged with DWI after he was stopped on Main Street in Stamford for a traffic violation.
Police say they charged Bame when his blood alcohol level tested .12 percent. He was issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Stamford Justice Court on February 12 at 6 p.m.
Delaware County Deputies arrested Lisa Merwin, 36, of Stamford on January 19 for disorderly conduct, a violation of the NYS Penal Law. The incident stemmed for a domestic dispute in the Village of Stamford. She was arraigned before Judge Lamport of the Town of Stamford Court and remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility in lieu of $250 cash bail. She was ordered to reappear on January 22 at 7 p.m.
