Area Police News: February 15, 2012

Michael S. Norden, 49, of Phoenicia was arrested by Shandaken Police on February 11 and charged with DWI after he was stopped for speeding.
He was issued appearance tickets returnable in Shandaken Justice Court at a later date.

Carol A. Halpin, 70, of Greenville was arrested by state police on February 7 and charged with DWI drugs after she allegedly struck a telephone pole on Route 10 in the Village of Stamford and then drove away.
Police say they responded to a 911 call following the incident and then took Halpin into custody when she stopped at the Youth Leadership Academy in South Kortright.
She was additionally charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident and issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Kortright Justice Court at a later date.

Mauro Moranchel, 27, of Fleischmanns was arrested by state police on February 11 and charged with aggravated DWI after he was involved in a property damage accident on Route 28 in the Town of Middletown.
Police say they charged Moranchel when his blood alcohol content allegedly tested .19 percent. He was also charged with being an unlicensed operator and for having moved from his lane unsafely.
He was issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Middletown Justice Court at a later date.

Richard A. Dougherty, 23, of Franklin was arrested by state police on February 8 and charged with aggravated DWI following a one-car personal injury accident on county Route 16 in the Town of Delhi.
Police say they charged Dougherty when his blood alcohol level allegedly tested .24 percent.
Dougherty was also charged with failure to keep right and imprudent speed.
He was issued tickets returnable in Town of Delhi Justice Court on February 28.

Beverly A. Mesick, 56, of Purling was arrested by state police on February 8 and charged with writing a $106 bad check to the Grand Gorge Animal Hospital.
She was issued a summons to appear in Town of Roxbury Justice Court at a later date.

Brandon M. Beauvais, 17, of Grand Gorge was arrested by state police on February 11 and charged with DWI following a minor traffic accident on Route 30 in Grand Gorge.
Police say they charged Beauvais when his blood alcohol level allegedly tested .14 percent.
He was issued tickets returnable in Roxbury Justice Court on February 27.

Kathleen E. Finch, 59, of Roxbury was arrested by state police and charged with petit larceny and fifth-degree possession of stolen property after she allegedly shoplifted food items from the Grand Union store in Stamford.
She was issued tickets returnable in Village of Stamford Justice Court.
