Area Police News: august 7, 2013
Steven Katz, 51, of Merrick was arrested by state police on July 30 and charged with DWI after he was stopped on Bridge Street in Margaretville for a traffic violation.
Police say they charged Katz when his blood alcohol level tested .13 percent. He was arraigned in Town of Middletown Justice Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $500 cash bail to await further court action on August 8 at 10 a.m.
Lucas M. LaBumbard, 22, of Arkville was issued traffic tickets by state police on July 1 charging him with driving without insurance and with having an inadequate muffler after he was stopped on county Route 38 in the Town of Middletown.
The tickets are returnable in Town of Middletown Justice Court on August 29 at 9 a.m.
Brad J. Ingraham, 26, of Arkville was issued a traffic ticket by state police on August 1 charging him with having an inadequate muffler after he was stopped on Route 30 in the Town of Middletown.
As a result of the traffic stop, Amber L. Weil, 19, a passenger in the Ingraham vehicle, was issued an appearance ticket charging her with unlawful possession of marijuana.
Both defendants are scheduled to appear in Middletown Justice Court on August 29.
Michael J. Gould, 22, of South Kortright faces a number of charges following a one-car property damage accident on August 3.
State police say Gould was east bound on Route 10 in the Town of Delhi when he went off the road on the south shoulder and struck the guide wire.
Police charged Gould with DWI drugs, moving from lane unsafely, and with driving an uninspected and unlicensed motor vehicle.
He was issued summonses returnable in Town of Delhi Justice Court on August 13 at 1 p.m.
Cody J. Smolin-Johnson, 19, of Roxbury was arrested by state police on August 3 and faces a number of charges as the result of a domestic incident involving his girlfriend.
Police say they charged Smolin-Johnson with criminal obstruction of breathing, fourth-degree criminal mischief, and second-degree harassment after an argument turned physical.
He was issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Roxbury Justice Court on August 7 at 7 p.m.
Smolin-Johnson was also charged by state police with disorderly conduct on August 4 after his car suffered a flat tire on Route 30 in the Town of Middletown and he was allegedly seen throwing rocks at road signs, activating his vehicle’s alarm, and acting disorderly.
He was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Middletown Court on August 15.
Massimo Stecchi, 39, of Long Island City was issued several traffic tickets by state police on August 5 after he was stopped on Route 28 in Margaretville.
Police say they charged Stecchi with driving an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle and with driving with a suspended license.
He was arraigned in Town of Andes Justice Court and released on $700 cash bail to reappear on August 8 at 9 a.m.
