Area Police News: April 4, 2012

Following a traffic stop on Route 23 in the Town of Harpersfield, Delaware County Sheriff Deputies arrested Dean A. Scherer, 50, of Bloomville for DWI. Scherer was also issued a uniformed traffic ticket for speeding. Scherer is to appear in Town of Harpersfield Justice Court at a later date.

Following the investigation of a domestic dispute  in the Town of Kortright, Delaware County Sheriff Deputies arrested Robert P. Walsh, 30, of Hobart for one count of criminal obstruction of breathing and one count of endangering the welfare of a child. Walsh was arraigned in Town of Kortright Justice Court and remanded to the county jail pending a further court appearance.

Linda P. Ropert, 44, of Deposit was arrested by state police on March 29 and charged with DWI drugs, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation after police responded to a 911 call in the Town of Hamden. Ropert was issued appearance tickets returnable in the Town of Hamden Justice Court on April 16 at 5 p.m.

Carol A. Bruno, 47, of Prattsville was arrested by state police on March 27 and charged with DWI drugs after police received a 911 call about an erratic driver in the Grand Union parking lot in Stamford. Police say they responded to the scene and, after questioning Bruno, charged her with DWI drugs. She was issued a ticket returnable in Town of Stamford Justice Court on April 10 at 6 p.m.

Two Delhi residents were arrested on March 31 after state police received a 911 call regarding a possible drunk driver incident. Police say they found the reported vehicle at Mid-County Auto Body in Delhi and, after an investigation, arrested Stefan Krajcovic, 23, charging him with DWI, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unlicensed operator and with having an open container in a motor vehicle and Joseph J. Loori, 19, with false personation and open container in a motor vehicle.
Both men were arraigned in Town of Delhi Justice Court. Krajcovic was remanded to the county jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail to await further court action while Loori posted $150 cash bail and was released to reappear at a later date.
