Area Police News: April 25, 2012
Shayne D. Wilber, 20, of Mt. Tremper was arrested on April 17 by Shandaken Police and faces nine traffic tickets after police received complaints from neighbors of a loud motorcycle operating in the area.
Police say that while conducting their investigation they observed Wilber operating a motorcycle that fit the description driving on state Route 212 and attempted to stop him when Wilber took off failing to stop. He was later located at his residence and issued tickets that included charges for fail to comply, aggravated unlicensed operation, driving with a suspended license, speeding and other charges. He was issued tickets returnable in Shandaken Town Court at a later date.
Thomas J. Kamna, 34, of Prattsville was arrested by state police on April 18 on a bench warrant issued by the Town of Roxbury Justice Court charging him with failure to appear on a previous charge. Kamna was arraigned and released on his own recognizance to reappear at a later date.
David M. Martin Jr., 20, of Margaretville was arrested by state police on April 20 and charged with criminal contempt, for allegedly violating an order of protection, and resisting arrest after he allegedly had contact with a 14-year-old Margaretville who he had been ordered to stay away from.
Police say the 14-year-old girl went out a bedroom window of her home and met Martin in his car where the two spent a couple of hours talking. Police say they acted after receiving a complaint from the girl’s mother.
Martin was arraigned in Town of Middletown Justice Court and remanded to the county jail to await further court action.
Billy N. Climaco, 19, and Bryan M. Lopez, 19, both of Port Washington were arrested by state police on April 22 and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after police responded to their residence in the Village of Delhi for a domestic dispute.
Police say both men were issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Delhi Justice Court on May 15.
Krista L. Northrop, 23, of Hobart was issued a traffic ticket by state police on April 18 charging her with passing a stopped school bus on county Route 18 in Hobart.
Northrop was issued a ticket returnable in Town of Stamford Justice Court on May 8 at 6 p.m.
Philip J. Ricciardi, 20, of Hawthorne was issued traffic tickets by state police on April 19 charging him with passing a stopped school bus and using a mobile phone while driving.
Police say the incident happened on Franklin Street in Delhi.
Ricciardi is scheduled to appear in Town of Delhi Justice Court on May 8 at 9 a.m.
Chad M. Ostrander, 27, of Grand Gorge was arrested by state police on April 20 and charged with second-degree trespass after he was allegedly found in the office of Park Lane Homes in Grand Gorge without permission.
Ostrander was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Roxbury Justice Court on May 2 at 10 a.m.
Jeffrey Sanchez, 46, of Bloomville was arrested by state police on April 21 and charged with menacing following a domestic dispute with his girlfriend during which he allegedly threatened to kill her. Sanchez was arrested and arraigned in Town of Harpersfield Justice Court and sent to the county jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail to await further court action.
