Archery shoot and BBQ July 12 at Frost Valley
Frost Valley YMCA’s Outdoor Sporting Program will hold its annual 3-D Archery Shoot and Barbecue on Saturday, July 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event is great fun for the entire family. Frost Valley’s new 28-target 3-D course is located at 2244 Frost Valley Road in Claryville.
Several shooting positions and completion categories are offered for each target from cub, novice, youth, traditional, women, hunter, open, to pro and top bow classes. Foam animals are set in natural terrain on a 1/2-mile trail of easy hiking for most everyone. If possible, participants should bring their own bow and arrows. Staff are available for tips and instruction and a limited number of loaner bows will also be on hand.
The event fee is $16 for adults; $6 for children 13 and under and those under age six compete for free. One goal of the Family Sporting Weekend series is to introduce new members and guests to the benefits of the Outdoor Sporting Membership at Frost Valley YMCA. Outdoor Sporting members are provided with access to Frost Valley’s property for hiking, fly-fishing, seasonal sports hunting and camping.
A second 3-D Archery Competition and Barbecue will be hosted by Frost Valley on Saturday, Aug. 9 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
