Andes Hotel wins county tourism prize
Margaretville — The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce recognized several businesses and individuals for their service to the county’s business community at its 2011 Annual Awards Dinner Thursday evening at Hanah Mountain Resort and Country Club in Margaretville.
The Andes Hotel received the Arnold Banker Tourism Property of the Year award. Ed and Sally O’Neill of The Andes Hotel have slowly and steadily, taken The Andes Hotel on a journey with constant improvements to their building and offerings, and most recently, opening O’Neill’s Shire Pub in Delhi. They run two, seven-day-a-week businesses that are consistent and reliable. If travelers are here on a weeknight or weekend looking for someplace to eat and entertainment - you can always, with confidence, refer them to the O’Neill’s restaurants. Sally has informally led the Andes Advertising Group, as well as served as a past board member of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce. The O’Neills are committed to the communities they serve and their efforts are appreciated by all.
Delhi’s Tractor Supply has been selected as Business of the Year. In a very hard economic time, Tractor Supply opened their second store in Delaware County and with the creation of jobs, meeting the needs of the communities and with the generation of sales tax, this new store has truly helped the economy for Delaware County.
New Business of the Year was awarded to the Watershed Post, which has shown the importance and the need of being connected to the Internet.
