Andes boasts top boy, girl area scorers
In the list of area scoring leaders as of Oct. 10 released by The Daily Star last week, Andes Central School has a scoring star atop each list. Junior Peter Fabrykiewicz leads local scorers on the boys’ side, while eighth-grader Mariah Ruff leads girls’ scorers in the area.
In 10 games, Fabrykiewicz has tallied 19 goals and four assists for a total of 42 points. He is a point ahead of Delhi’s Nick Meehan, who has 15 goals and 11 assists for 41 points. Also in the top five are: Jake Chase of Cooperstown (15 goals, 10 assists), Jacob Joseph of Onteora (7-16) and Tyler Smith of Margaretville (13-3).
In 12 games, Ruff has tallied 20 goals and two assists, also for a total of 42 points. Ruff is three goals ahead of Margaretville’s Erica Faulkner, who has scored 17 goals and had seven assists in 12 games for 42 points. Rounding out the top five are Jackie Gilley of Davenport (15-9), Kori Hamm of Edmeston (17-2), and Chandler Prouty of Milford (16-2).
