Albert A. Filupeit, 87, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, a former resident of Dry Brook, Arkville, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009 at Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne. Mr. Filupeit was born March 27, 1922, in Brooklyn and had lived in Dry Brook from 1932-1939. He had lived in Cheyenne since 1963.
He retired as chief master sergeant from the Air Force in 1965 after 20 years of service.
He was employed by Boeing Company and Lockheed Martin.
Mr. Filupeit was a member of the Air Force Association, Moose Lodge and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
Surviving are his wife, Gertrude Ann Filupeit, whom he married December 4, 1948, in Wiesbaden, Germany; a son, Donald Filupeit of Scottsdale, Arizona; a daughter, Patricia Hoffman, of Ossining and a brother, Arthur Filupeit, of Arkville. Also surviving are five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Caroline Filupeit and a brother, Oscar Filupeit.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
Private family services will be held in Margaretville.
