AFD Golf Tourney results and a Father's Day hole-in-one

Fifty-two golfers played in the Arkville Fire Department benefit two-man scramble on June 14 at the Meadows Golf Course on Route 28, Margaretville.
The overall winners (and winner of three skins with birdies on holes 1,4, and 5) were Joe Lumbrasile and Nick Smith of Arkville. They combined for three-under-par 26.
The Firefighter Flight winners were Bill and Anna Blish of Margaretville who scored a three-over-par 32.
Nick Smith whose shot came within 46 inches of the pin on the 86-yard “postage stamp” hole No. 8 won the prize for a drive closest to the pin. The prize for the Longest Drive, men, went to George Griffin and Tammy Rieder recorded the longest drive for women.

On Father’s Day, June 15, Glen Faulkner of New Kingston shot a hole in one on The Meadows Golf Center’s 137-yard par 3 6th hole. He was golfing with his son, Brian, who coincidentally aced the same hole two years ago. Other witnesses to the feat included Don and Nate Bramley, John and Eric Mathieson, Doug Cowan and Harley Jenkins.
