BOCES honor students listed for second quarter

Grand Gorge — The following ONC BOCES, Northern Catskill Occupational Center students, were named to the Principal List and Honor Roll for the second quarter of the 2008-2009 school year:

Rosa brothers advance in military

Two New Kingston brothers have recently graduated from their respective military trainings. Ryan Rosa was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps on Nov. 21, 2008 at Quantico, Va.


Roxbury lists honor students

Roxbury Central School announced yesterday the students named to the honor roll, high honor roll and superintendent’s list for the second quarter.

Moore named to RPI Dean's List

Rensselaer — David Spooner, acting dean of science of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s School of Science, has announced that Margaretville resident Casey Moore has been named to the college’s Dean’s List for the fall semester.


Area student honored at Hartwick

Oneonta — Hartwick College first year student Nevin Perez, of Margaretville, son of Analilia and Norberto Perez, has been named to the fall term Dean’s List at Hartwick.
Inclusion on Hartwick’s Dean’s List is an indication of excellent academic work, including the completion of a full course load with at least a 3.5 grade point average based on a 4.0 scale.


MCS honor students listed for second period

Margaretville Central School officials have released its second quarter Honor Roll.

Honor Roll
Grade 7 — Annette Auchmoody, Cecilia Galatioto, Isacmar Cruz-Martinez, Robert Maxim, Victor Mendoza, Chelsea Shultis, Tiffany Zullin.
Grade 8 — Samantha Bouton, Crystal Colon, Samanatha Fairbairn, Mitchell Hull, Sonia Mendoza, Caleb Todd.


RCS Olympiad Team qualifies for state finals

The drought that has kept the RCS High School Science Olympiad Team away from the state finals since 2004 ended at the College of Saint Rose in Albany on Saturday. The Rockets qualified for their ninth appearance at the state finals with their fifth place overall performance in a field of 18 teams. Only four schools from the regional will advance to the finals.


Rossitz named to Dean's List at RIT

Meghan Rossitz of Spencerport, a granddaughter of John and Jane Rossitz of Bushnellville, has been named to the Dean’s List at Rochester Institute of Technology for the fall semester.
Rossitz is a senior majoring in advertising and photography. She is the daughter of Jeffrey and Melisa Rossitz, also of Spencerport.


Christian Academy announces honor roll

The Catskill Mountain Christian Academy in Margaretville has announced its first quarter High Honor and Honor Rolls:

High Honor
Joseph Barto, Skylar Barto, Chrystian DiAgostino, Monique Murphy, Evan Odato, Mira Odato, Courtney Spaulding, Joshua Spaulding and Rebecca Suess.


Wyckoff passes bar exam

Melissa Wyckoff, 28, has passed the Connecticut State Bar Exam on the first try. Wyckoff attended her swearing in ceremony on Oct. 27 in front of the Supreme Court Justices of Connecticut at the Bushnell Center located in Hartford, Conn.
