Emily and Lou Giorgi of New Kingston celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family party on October 3 at Giovannis’ Water’s Edge Restaurant in Danbury, Conn. The party was hosted by the couple’s children; Louis Giorgi Jr. and Adelia Hunter, both of New Kingston, Margaret Giorgi Riehl of White Plains and Christopher Giorgi and his wife Elizabeth of Danbury.
Kathie Stepski and Scott Galbreath of Endicott have announced the birth of their son, Karden Michael, born on October 20, 2009 at Wilson Hospital in Johnson City. Karden weighed seven pounds, 15 ounces and was 20 and-a-half inches long.
Jesse Voeks and Crystal Matthews of Roxbury have announced the birth of their son, Marek James Voeks, born Sept. 24, 2009 at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital.
Rena and David Baker of Highmount are the parents of a son, Colin William, born Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck. Colin weighed eight pounds, two ounces and was 21 inches long at birth.
U.S. Army Captain Casey Russell, son of Bill and Trudy Russell of New Kingston, and Jadelyn Baniqued, were married at the Paris Hilton in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 18, 2009.

The desperados were at it again! Periodically they hold up the Delaware and Ulster Railroad train. Two shots rang out at the Roxbury Depot on Saturday, disrupting a tranquil afternoon. The good news is that no one was injured and no one died as a result of the attack of these unsavory characters.
Margaretville residents Anna Potts and Bill Blish were married on September 6, 2008 at the Hidden Inn in South Kortright. The Rev. Ralph Darmstadt officiated at the ceremony.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, Howard VanLoan Sr. of Highmount.
