Area Police News: July 28, 2010

Delaware County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested and charged an area building contractor on July 21 with a felony relating to the filing of a false application for a Town of Delhi building permit.  David B. White, 26, of DeLancey has been charged with first-degree offering a false instrument for filing. White is accused of filing a written application with the Town of Delhi Code Enforcement Officer that contained false information relating to the proposed cost of a building project for which the building permit was issued. White was issued an appearance ticket directing him to appear in the Town of Delhi Court at 9 a.m. on July 27 to answer the charge.

Shandaken Police report the arrest of Rafael R. Santiago, 55, of Willow on charges of DWI and having an open alcoholic-beverage container in a motor vehicle. Santiago was issued appearance tickets returnable in Shandaken Justice Court at a later date.

Area Police News: July 7, 2010

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a motorcycle accident Thursday afternoon on Route 28 near the intersection of Canada Hollow in the Town of Middletown west of Dunraven.
Deputies say the driver was Aras Toraman, 24, of Fairview, N.J. His passenger was Michele Hernandez, 26, of Ridgefield, N.J.

Area Police News: June 30, 2010

On Wednesday evening, June 23, Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested and charged a West Davenport woman following their investigation of a two-car motor vehicle accident that occurred in the Town of Delhi on June 15. Deputies arrested and charged Karen R. Glance, 48, with DWI, failure to keep right and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Area Police News: June 23, 2010

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a two-car personnel injury auto accident that occurred on state Route 10 in the Town of Delhi on June 15. Delaware County Treasurer Beverly Shields, 59, of Downsville was traveling south when she was struck by a vehicle traveling north operated by Karen R. Glance, 58, of West Davenport. Shields was treated and released at the scene and Glance was transported to O’Conner Hospital.

Area Police News: June 16, 2010

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Joanne McIntosh, 56, of Bovina Center on Saturday for issuing a bad check. McIntosh was issued an appearance ticket for Bovina Town Court to appear at a later date to answer the charge.

Area Police News: June 9, 2010

Stanley C. Finch, 38, of Arkville was arrested by state police on May 28 and charged with third-degree assault after he allegedly pushed a friend of his mother’s into a wall causing him to suffer a one-inch laceration to his eye. Police say the altercation followed a day of heavy beer drinking.
Finch was arraigned in Town of Middletown Justice Court and released pending a further court appearance. An order of protection was issued.

Area Police News: May 26, 2010

Arkville resident Joshua Ayala, 20, was served criminal summons on Thursday for second-degree harassment charges alleging that he punched and kicked his roommate over a Playstation power cord. Ayala was ordered to appear in the Town of Middletown Court on May 27.

Area Police News: May 19, 2010

Two drivers face a number of traffic charges following a two-car accident Monday at the intersection of Route 28 and Bridge Street in Margaretville. State police were short on details but did say that cars operated by John C. Trahan, 20, of Inwood and William Archibald, 50, of Margaretville collided at the intersection.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a two-car personal injury motor vehicle accident last Wednesday on Route 28, just south of Emerson Road in the Town of Delhi.
