Area Police News: Nov. 3, 2010

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested and charged Dean A. Calamia, 38, of Delhi last week Wednesday in connection with two separate complaints. Calamia was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and fourth-degree grand larceny.


Police News: Oct. 27, 2010

Gary A. Daquila, 20, of Pawling was arrested Friday and charged with possession of alcohol by a person under 21 as the result of a state police underage drinking enforcement detail in the Village of Delhi. Daquila was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Delhi Justice Court on November 2.


Area Police News: Oct. 20, 2010

Joseph K. Casazza, 17, of Ashland was arrested by state police last week Tuesday after he allegedly discharged an ammonium sulfide stink bomb in his classroom at BOCES in Grand Gorge. Police say they issued Casazza an appearance ticket charging him with unlawful possession of noxious material. He is scheduled to appear in Roxbury Justice Court on October 27.


Area Police News: Oct. 13, 2010

Michael VanDermeulen, 22, of Monticello was arrested by state police last week Monday and charged with speeding and aggravated unlicensed operation after he was stopped on Route 28 in Andes. He was arraigned in Andes Justice Court and released on $100 cash bail to reappear later.


Police News: Oct. 6, 2010

David Chairvolotti, 37, of Margaretville was arrested by state police last week Monday and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and petit larceny after he allegedly purchased gas and beer at the Country Store in Margaretville with a credit card that was stolen from a car parked on Main Street earlier that day.


Police News: Sept. 29, 2010

Russell McKee, 47, of Delaware Avenue, Andes was arrested September 25 on a charge of criminal mischief stemming from a vandalism incident at the Andes Town Hall.


Area Police News: Sept. 22, 2010

Big Indian resident Joseph P. VanLeuvan, 23, was arrested last week and issued uniform traffic tickets for third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, driving without a license and speeding after police stopped him for traveling 42 miles per hour in a 30-mph zone. The tickets are all returnable on September 28.


Police News: Sept. 15, 2010

Thomas Colon, 42, of Margaretville was arrested by state police last week Monday and charged with DWI after police received a complaint from a witnessed who allegedly observed him driving erratically near the Hess station on Route 28 in Arkville.


Police News: Sept. 8, 2010

Shandaken Police report the arrest on September 1 of Leander M. Ferris, 58, of Big Indian and Sarasota, Fla. on charges of second-degree unlicensed operation, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.


Area Police News: Sept. 1, 2010

Lori Hayden, 44, of Margaretville was arrested by state police Friday and charged with one count of disorderly conduct following a domestic dispute. Police say they responded to her Church Street apartment following a 911 call reporting the disturbance and arrested Hayden after she allegedly told a trooper she was going to shoot him.
