Area Police News: July 27, 2011

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Timothy J. Wren, 51, of Colchester on July 20 and charged him with one count of first-degree forcible touching, a class A misdemeanor and three counts third-degree rape, a class E felony, and other related felony charges.
It is alleged that Wren engaged in sexual acts with a child less than 17 years old.
Wren was arraigned before the Town of Colchester Court and released on his on recognizance.
The investigation into this and other alleged incidents is continuing at this time and additional charges may be pending.


Area Police News: July 20, 2011

Tammy M. Blackman, 46, of Delhi was arrested by state police Saturday and charged with third-degree forgery after she allegedly used a magic marker to alter the registration sticker on her car.
Police say the arrest took place in the parking lot of the Family Dollar store in Stamford and that they acted on the complaint of a person who walked into their Stamford station.
Blackman was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Village of Stamford Justice Court on July 20.


Area Police News: July 13, 2011

Christian L. Brandt, 36, of Hobart was arrested by state police last week Thursday and faces a number of charges after he allegedly struck his girlfriend’s son in the head with a baseball bat causing a laceration and bruising following a domestic incident.
State police say they charged Brandt with second-degree assault, fourth-degree grand larceny, second-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment.
Brandt was arraigned in Village of Hobart Justice Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail to await further court action.


Area Police News: July 6, 2011

Shandaken Police report the arrest on June 28 of Tyler J. LaRose, 20, of Phoenicia on a felony charge of criminal mischief.
Police say LaRose threw a glass beer bottle at a vehicle causing the windshield to be damaged in two places.
He was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Shandaken Justice Court at a later date.


Area Police News: June 29, 2011

Bruno K. Naubereit, 55, of Otego was arrested by state police last week Tuesday and faces a number of motor vehicle charges after he was stopped at the intersection of Route 10 and Peak’s Brook in Delhi.
Police say they charged Naubereit with having no insurance, uninspected, aggravated unlicensed operation, and driving an unregistered vehicle.
He was issued tickets returnable in Town of Delhi Justice Court on July 12.


Area Police News: June 22, 2011

Delaware County Deputies arrested Foster C. Borfitz of Roxbury for making a terroristic threat a class D felony. It is alleged that Foster made threats against Delaware County Department of Social Services workers as well as law enforcement personnel.
The arrest stems from an incident that took place in the Town of Roxbury on June 8. Foster was arraigned in the Town of Delhi court and was released on his own recognize to reappear at a later date.


Police News: June 15, 2011

Members of the Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team (URGENT) report the arrest of an additional defendant in a countywide drug sales investigation. Adam A. Demskie, 28, of Pine Hill, and also 26 Brewster Street, Kingston, was arrested by URGENT members in the Town of Shandaken on June 8.


Area Police News: June 8, 2011

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Robert J. Giordano, 22, of Grand Gorge on May 28 for criminal mischief, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Deputies assisted Roxbury Town Constable in arresting Giordano.
The charges stem from a complaint that Giordano was taking the American flags that were lined along Main Street in Grand Gorge and throwing them into the street. When deputies approached Giordano, he allegedly became very loud, obnoxious, and refused any instructions given to him.


Area Police News: May 25, 2011

Russell W. Scudder, 40, of Fleischmanns was arrested by state police last week Tuesday and charged with DWI after he was stopped for speeding on Route 30 in the Town of Roxbury. Police say they stopped Scudder for allegedly driving 90 mph in a 55 mph zone and charged him with DWI when his blood alcohol content allegedly tested .10 percent.
Scudder was issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Roxbury Justice Court on May 30 at 7 p.m.


Police News: May 18, 2011

Michael S. Weisbrod, 25, of Grand Gorge was arrested by state police last week Monday and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation after he was stopped on Route 23 in Grand Gorge for a traffic violation.
In an unrelated incident, police say they also charged Weisbrod with second-degree harassment for allegedly sending harassing e-mails to an ex-girlfriend.
He was issued appearance tickets returnable in Roxbury Justice Court.
