Barbara Gladstone

Barbara E. Gladstone, 80, of Eric Street, Norwich, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday, August 21, 2010 in the Residential Health Care Facility of Chenango Memorial Hospital.

Born March 4, 1930 in Shavertown, Barbara was the daughter of Allie and Alfreta (Ruff) Bramley.  She graduated from Andes Central School with the Class of 1947.

Oliver Mattice

Oliver William Mattice, 74, of Cherry Valley, passed away Tuesday, Aug 17, 2010 at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown.

He was born June 1, 1936 in Blenheim, the son of William and Erma (Hait) Mattice.
Oliver drove truck hauling milk and feed for Carson Stryker and then for Riedl Brothers. He enjoyed hunting, horses and following the New York Yankees.

Jordan Soderback

Jordan David Soderback, 19, of Arkville, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010 as a result of a car accident in the Town of Olive in Ulster County.

He was born September 10, 1990 in Kingston, the son of Scott Soderback and Shirley Goodchild.
Jordan was working as a clerk for the Country Store in Margaretville.

Theodore Finkle

Theodore Leland Finkle Sr., 62, of Beech Hill, Andes, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010 at his home, surrounded by his family and friends, after a long battle with cancer.

He was born February 2, 1948 in Delhi, the son of the late Isaac W. and Maude E. (Titch) Finkle, and grew up on military bases in Hawaii, where he was an avid surfer, returning to the area in his teens.

Steven T. Fabrykiewicz

Steven T. Fabrykiewicz, 59, died at his home in DeLancey on Monday, Aug. 2, 2010.

Steven was born on October 8, 1950 in New London, CT to the late S. Tom and Louise (Weingarten) Fabrykiewicz. He grew up in New London spending much of his time fishing and exploring his corner of the world. He was an extraordinary varsity football player and an accomplished golfer.

Anne Farnum

Anne M. Farnum, 68, of Roxbury, passed away Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, at her residence.

She was born May 21, 1942, the daughter of Charles and Marion Conner Inman.

Anne graduated from Oswego College with a B.A. degree as a certified elementary teacher and later earned her remedial reading certification.

Helen Minier

Helen Agnes Minier, 85, of Margaretville, went to her Heavenly home on Monday, Aug. 9, 2010, at Mountainside Residential Care Center where she lived since 2008.

She was born in Kalamazoo, Mich., on October 22, 1924, the daughter of Leo Blaine and Helen (Schram) Minier. She never married.

Steven Fabrykiewicz

Steven Fabrykiewicz, beloved husband of Beth McGuire, devoted father of Peter and Sam Fabrykiewicz, and principal broker of Real Estate 28 died suddenly at home in DeLancey on Monday, August 2.  

Funeral services are pending.

William Ruff

William A. Ruff, 86, of Delaware Avenue, Andes, passed away Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, at O’Connor Hospital in Delhi.

He was born on the family farm (Crystal Farm) Town of Andes on March 26, 1924, the son of Fred and Mabel (Worden) Ruff.

Bill was married to Thelma Taylor on April 8, 1961, at the Advent Christian Church, Margaretville, by the Rev. Albert Larcombe.
