David Ronning

David Ronning, 83, of Halcottsville, passed away Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010 at his residence.

He was born in Norway August 22, 1927, the son of Alf and Dagny (Thorp) Ronning. David married Ester Kilvik.

He worked as a technician for Western Union in New Jersey. After retiring he moved to Halcottsville in 1988.

Surviving are his wife, Ester Ronning of Halcottsville.


Vincent “Dugan” Kovalsky

Vincent “Dugan” Kovalsky, 74, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Margaretville Hospital.
He was born April 12, 1935 in Nyack, the son of Vincent and Ann (Cayot) Kovalsky.
Dugan was a graduate of Haverstraw High School.


Arthur Bross

Arthur J. Bross, 74, beloved father, husband, brother, brother-in-law and grandfather of Margate, FL, passed away at his home Wednesday, October 13, 2010.

Mr. Bross was very active in city politics for 22 years. He was mayor of Margate and city commissioner; property manager for Campbell Property Management Company and he was also an active memer of the Margate Democratic Club.


Rose Ann Goodchild

Rose Ann GoodchildRose Ann GoodchildRose Ann Goodchild, 84, of Arkvile, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born January 15, 1926 in Haynes Hollow, Dry Brook, the daughter of Mannie E. and Bessie (Dougherty) McCann.


Gladys Johnson

Gladys Hattie Johnson, 88, of Roxbury, passed away Friday, Oct. 8, 2010 at Margaretville Hospital, Margaretville.

She was born in Blenheim on May 28, 1922, the daughter of Warren and Edna Vermilyea Moore.
She married Kenneth Johnson April 9, 1944 in Bloomville.

Gladys was part of the cafeteria staff of the Roxbury Central School for 20 years. She retired in 1983.


Michael Okon

Michael Okon 82, of Halcott Center, passed away Friday, Sept. 24, 2010.

He was born November 6, 1927.

He was the loving father of Michael Jr., Steven and Valerie and grandpa to Evan and Michael and leaves his loving Lab Luke. Michael was a dedicated ex-chief of the Vigilant Fire Company of Great Neck, and honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy.


Frank McGinnis

Frank McGinnis, 56, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 at his home in Roxbury, his family was by his side. He died after fighting cancer for over three years.

He was born on June 11, 1954 in Schenectady, the son of Thomas and Barbara McGinnis.

He met his wife, Cheryl, when they were only teenagers. They were married 33 years ago on October 1.


George Carle

George W. Carle, 94, of Andes, passed away peacefully at his residence. on Friday, Sept. 24, 2010 at his residence.

He was born June 26, 1916 on the family homestead in Andes and lived there all his life. He was the son of Walter Carle and Eva Wolven.

He attended a one-room schoolhouse in Union Grove. He never married.


Leo Lebowitz

Leo Lebowitz, 87, a resident of Denver, NY passed away on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010 at Margaretville Memorial Hospital, Margaretville.

Funeral and graveside prayers were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26 at Congregation B’Nai Israel Cemetery, Fleischmanns.

Arrangements were by the Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville.


Marlene (Martie) Muir

Marlene (Martie) Muir, 74, of Denver, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010 at her residence.
She was born February 21, 1936, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Harry and Grace (Atsch) Stoflat.

She married Nicholas (Russ) Muir on August 10, 1968 at Mamaroneck.
