Thomas D. Davis

Thomas D. Davis, 65, of Woodward, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2009.
He was a graduate of Parson School of Design in New York City and resided in Pine Hill for many years before retiring to Oklahoma. He had a passion for design and could not pass a person or pet in need.


Lindon Morse

Lindon (Lindy) B. Morse, 94, of Main Street, Roxbury, passed away Monday, July 13, 2009 in Roxbury.
He was born February 17, 1915 in the Town of Roxbury, the youngest of seven children of Chauncey F. and Annie Dent Morse.


Ed Schluter, Jr.

Edward R. Schluter Jr., 92, of Halcottsville passed away Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Mountainside Residential Care Center, Margaretville.
He was born July 23, 1916 in Oyster Bay, the son of Edward R. and Lillian Puvogel Schluter.
He married Matilda Erb October 16, 1946, in Mehanicsville.
He had been a resident of Halcottsville since 1980 and a member of the Halcottsville Fire Department.
Ed was a captain in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was with the 78th division, 309th Regiment Cannon Company and was awarded the Bronze Star.
He was a self-employed contracting engineer.
Ed was an active member and past chief of Hicksville Fire Department as well as a founding member of the Firemaster Benevolent Association.


Henry Prince

Henry Prince
Henry J. Prince, 74, died Monday, June 29, 2009 at his home in Fairfield, N.J. where he had resided for 40 years.
Henry was a former resident of Ramsey, N.J., Europe and California.
He was born and raised in Walton and was actively involved in sports in Walton High School where he played football, basketball and baseball.


Pearl Lockwood

Pearl M. Lockwood, 96, of Stamford, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2009 at the Robinson Terrace Residential Care Center, Stamford. She was born October 21, 1912 in the Bronx, the daughter of Charles and Fannie (Anderson) Downey. She married George F. Lockwood on March 16, 1933 at the Church of the Holy Name, Valhalla.
Pearl lived in Hopewell Junction and North Blenheim before moving to Stamford.


Hanford Shultis

Hanford “Hank” Shultis, 81, died suddenly Thursday, April 2, 2009 at his home in Sun City, Ariz.
He was born March 28, 1928, the son of John and Mildred Shultis.
Hank grew up on a farm in Denver, N.Y. He enlisted in the Army reserves in 1945 and served in the Army Signal Corp.


Doris Tuttle

Memorial services for Doris Tuttle, 88, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., will be held June 20, at 11 a.m. at the Margaretville Cemetery.
Doris was born in Davenport, N.Y. She and her late husband, Arthur, moved to Margaretville during World War II where they owned and operated a paint store on Main Street for many years.
Doris graduated from Bloomville High School at the age of 16.


Gregory Sprague

Gregory C. Sprague, 72, of Andes, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2009 after a short illness.
He was born in Shavertown on April 16, 1937, the son of the late Truman and Goldie (Sutton) Sprague. Greg was self-employed as a handyman and carpenter. In his spare time he enjoyed tinkering with machinery.


Evelyn Klink

Evelyn T. Klink, 90, of Mount Morris, formerly of Bradenton, Fla., died Sunday, June 7, 2009 at Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mount Morris.
She was born the daughter of Herman and Jean Konanz on March 26, 1919, in Teaneck, New Jersey.
Evelyn graduated Magna Cum Laude from Alfred University.


Jan Long

Jan Alyce Long, 61, of Deer Lane, Oliverea, died Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Benedictine Hospital in Kingston. She was born August 11, 1947 in Margaretville, the daughter of the late Richard and Barbara Bedell Gavette. She was an active and lifelong resident of the Catskill Mountains.
