Karl Theodore (Ted) Scholl, 90, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008 after a short illness.
He was born in Hoboken, NJ June 24, 1918, the son of Agnes and Karl Scholl.
He graduated from Long Island City High School in 1937 and also from SUNY Cobleskill in 1939.
Ted was a successful dairy farmer in the Town of Blenheim until 1969 when the New York Power Authority condemned the farm to build the Blenheim-Gilboa power project. He then worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture office in Cobleskill and simultaneously started a locksmith business which he ran until 1999 when he moved to Florida.

Hedwig Dammann, 94, of Main Street, Pine Hill, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008 at the Mountainside Residential Care Center in Margaretville. She was born April 9, 1914 in Bavaria, Germany, the daughter of the late Waldemar and Olga Hundt Spitzbarth. At the age of 12, she and her parents immigrated to the New York City metropolitan area where she attended and graduated from school in 1931.

Orvil A. Rosa, 90, of Southside Road, Margaretville, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008 at Mountainside Residential Care Center, Margaretville. He was born in Dry Brook on August 9, 1917, the son of Albert Rosa and Della Vermilyea Rosa. He attended Margaretville Central School.

Elizabeth “Betty” Keene, 85, of Johnson Hollow Road, Prattsville, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2008 at Nassau Extended Care Center, Hempstead. She was born in Manhattan on March 31, 1923, the daughter of Alexander and Anna Cotol. She married Augustine Keene in New York City on June 30, 1945.

Cynthia A. Farleigh, 67, of Roxbury, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Hospice Inn at Saint Peter’s Hospital in Albany. She was born in Wind Gap, Pa., on August 17, 1940, the daughter of Clarence and Gladys Williams Kolb. She married Wheldon J. Farleigh on June 3, 1961 at Wind Gap, Pa.
Cynthia was a resident of Roxbury for the past 40 years, where she was an active member of the Jay Gould Memorial Reformed Church, Roxbury.

Helen “Bucky” George, 82, of Arkville, died unexpectedly while visiting a daughter in Grand Junction, Colo. Helen, originally from Mansfield, Mass., was employed at Margaretville Memorial Hospital as a registered charge nurse for 45 years before her retirement in 1992.
Helen’s passions included her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, for whom she sacrificed all personal needs and wants, putting her family first.

Florence C. Mathis, 80, of Margaretville.
On Thursday, July 17, 2008, although our mother, Florence C. Mathis, took her last breath, we rejoice that she entered the heavenly arms of our father, Alfred E. Mathis, who joined our Lord in 1996. Florence began her life in Dumont, N.J. on June 27, 1928, the daughter of John and Gladys Meister.
She married her one and only love, Alfred, on March 2, 1947, and began her journey to Margaretville, to their farm on Hubbell Hill, and raised their loving children.

Graveside services for Patricia Ann Mariotti, who died in Florida on November 16, 2007, will be held at the Clovesville Cemetery, Fleischmanns at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2008. Shirley Davis, CLN, will officiate at the service.
Arrangements are by the Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville.

With deep regret and sadness, the family of Bernard Leon Ladenheim, formerly of Margaretville, has announced his death. He passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at Benedictine Hospital from complications related to a stroke. Born in Ellenville on January 23, 1929, he was the son of Samuel and Molly Drantch Ladenheim. The Ladenheim family moved to Margaretville in 1938 and made their home in the area since that time.

Frances B. Greene, 83, of Ellenville, a resident of Ellenville since 1956, and a former teller at the Fleischmanns Bank, died Friday, July 11, 2008 at The Mt. View Nursing Home, New Paltz. She was born in Highmount on March 31, 1925, the daughter of Loren and Hazel Boice Riley.
