Hugo Morales

Hugo Morales, 75, a resident of Roxbury, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015.
He is survived by his significant other, Maria Espinosa of Mount Tremper; son and daughter-in-law, Victor and Alycia Morales of Laurens, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and John DeLelys of Syracuse; five grandchildren, Zachary, Ezra, Caleb, Hannah, and Gideon Morales; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ben and Mercedes Gruosso of Roxbury and three sisters, Crimilda, Grace, and Pompo Morales of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.

John Fennelly

John R. Fennelly, 82, of Big Indian died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015 at his residence, with family at his side. He was born May 12, 1932 in Kingston, the beloved son of the late Mary Pomeroy. 
John was a truck driver, having been a member of the Teamsters Local #707.  He both grew up and retired in Big Indian.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War and was also stationed in Germany.  John was a pillar of the community, and loved by all who knew him.

Patricia Berg

Patricia A. Berg, 66, of Walton passed away on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Patty was born on July 10, 1948 in Margaretville, the daughter of Kaare and Adele (Fellner) Berg. She was a graduate of Andes Central School, Class of 1966.
She worked at Albany Medical Center as an EEG Tech. She met her life-long partner, Stephen Brown, while at work in 1976. She loved listening to music and spending time with her family.

Patricia Webster

Patricia A. (Mattice) Webster, 82, passed away Saturday January 10, 2015 at the Center for Living and Rehab in Bennington, VT. 

She was born and raised in Roxbury, NY. When she married William C. Webster in 1954, they moved from NJ and settled in Bayberry to raise their family. When Bill passed away in 1995, she moved Highland Green (Radisson) where she made many friends and was involved with the community activities. A few years ago, she moved to Fillmore Pond in Bennington, VT where her daughter Katherine lives.

Betty Chapman

Betty Bonnie (Bool) Chapman, 90, a long-time resident of Coon Rapids, MN, died peacefully on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, at Mountainside Residential Care Center in Margaretville where she had gone to live after four years with her daughter in Brooklyn.

Joan Brower

Joan A. Brower, 79, a longtime resident of Albany, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.
Joan was born in Roxbury on July 10, 1935, the daughter of David and Helen Elma (Moore) Brower. She graduated from Roxbury Central School. In Albany she worked many years for the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Insurance Company.
Joan enjoyed photography, doing crafts, and was a talented artist.
She is survived by a sister, Nancy Brower; a brother and sister-in-law, George and  Julia Brower; three nephews, and four nieces.
Joan was predeceased by a brother, Philip M. Brower in 1990.

Robert Socci

Robert P. Socci, 60, a resident of Mountainside Residential Care Center in Margaretville for the past two years died at Mountainside on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014.
He formerly lived in Jefferson.
Robert was born August 31, 1954 at Cooperstown, the son of Michael T. and Lillian M. (Jacobs) Socci. He served in the U.S. Navy.
Robert is survived by a daugh­ter, Mary Jane Manns of Frankfort, KY.
Services for Robert will take place in Frankfort, KY.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville.

Naomi J. Weiss

Naomi J. Weiss of Margaretville died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014 at Mountainside Residential Care Center where she had resided for the past year and a half.
Born January 11, 1929 in Plainfield, NJ, she was the daughter of Dr. Edward A. and Naomi Wish Kircher. She was a 1946 graduate of Plainfield High School.

James Johnson, Jr.

James H. Johnson Jr., 54, a resident of Andes, died at his home on Monday, Dec. 22, 2014.
Jim was born January 19, 1960 at Huntington, the son of James H. and Joyce P. (Peters) Johnson.
For the past several years, Jim enjoyed living on the family homestead in the Town of Andes.
He was employed as a sheet metal worker in Florida and was a member of the Sheet Metal Union. In Margaretville Jim worked at the Catskill Watershed Corporation.

Robert Brinley

Robert M. Brinley, 87, of Andes died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014.
He was born in New Jersey on November 11, 1927, the son of John and Helen Brinley.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Burge, six sons (one predeceased), one daughter, 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a sister.
