Pilgrim Holiness Gospel services

Gospel services will be held at the Pilgrim Holiness Church, Route 23, Grand Gorge, each evening at 7:30 from September 28 – October 4. Rev. Billy McCoy of Mt. Eva and Jim Williams of Lewes, Delaware spent Monday through Wednesday with Marion Gile. Eva (Teichmann) and Marion (Cronk) were in the first grade together at Roxbury Central School with Frances Gorsch as their teacher. They both graduated in the class of 1942, Eva from RCS and Marion from Stamford Central School.

Old Arena Day on Saturday

Former residents of Arena will gather on Saturday, Oct. 2 at the Arena Firehall on Millbrook Road for their annual meeting.

The day will begin at noon with a chicken barbecue sold by the firemen. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to pass and table service.

Friends from Shavertown, Union Grove, Old Dunraven and Pepacton are most welcome.

A piece of Halcottsville history is demolished

 The life of this Bragg Hollow barn came to an end in late August when it was demolished.  Dating back to the pre-Civil War era, it was featured in a number of photographs in As The River Runs by Diane Galusha, her book on the history of Halcottsville.
