14th Spring Fair planned Saturday at Mountainside

The Auxiliary of Margaretville Memorial Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center will host its 14th annual Spring Fair on Saturday, March 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mountainside.
The event will feature an Easter Egg Treasure Hunt, photos with the Easter Bunny, crafts, candy, baked goods, and products by Avon and Mary Kay.

Dr. Hambright leaving MMH practice

Dr. Maya Hambright is discontinuing her practice at the Margaretville Family Health Center, hospital officials announced this week.
The physician joined the MMH staff last fall but found it difficult to balance her on-call duties at the hospital with her family responsibilities.

Margaretville planners recommend zoning change that would allow for new retail building construction

Village board expected to vote on proposal at March meeting

The Margaretville Planning Board has recommended that the village board approve a zoning amendment change that would allow new retail buildings to be constructed within the municipality. If approved by the village board, the zoning change would pave the way for a Family Dollar store to be built adjacent to the post office.

Eminent domain started for village bulkhead access

The Village of Margaretville is moving ahead with eminent domain proceedings to obtain a small parcel needed to gain access to the village bulkhead for repair work.
The bulkhead is located at the junction of the East Branch of the Delaware River and the Binnekill stream.

"February Frolic" show opens at Longyear Gallery Saturday

Presidents’ Day Weekend marks the opening of Longyear Gallery’s latest show, February Frolic. The artists’ reception will be held Saturday, Feb. 16, from 4 to 7 p.m.
The gallery hours have been extended that day with the hope of attracting after-work and après ski types, as well as diners from newly opened Dominico’s Café downstairs in The Commons Building.

MMH Dance-a-Thon planned at Belleayre

The second annual Dance-a-Thon to benefit the Margaretville Hospital will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Overlook Lodge at Belleayre Mountain in Highmount.

Wink Hinkley wins top prize in Margaretville Chamber of Commerce drawing

Grand Gorge resident Wink Hinkley was the grand prize winner of a family weekend for four at Frost Valley YMCA in Claryville in a drawing sponsored by the Greater Margaretville Chamber of Commerce.
The prize drawing was held in conjunction with the Arkville Holiday event held December 29.
